LAZER GUNS

Yesterday my dad, my brother, and I played with our two "lazer tag" guns. We went outside and saw who could kill the other first. We lost one of the sights for one of the guns, so we used my iTouch with the Lazer Tag app as a sight instead. The first time we played, I beat dad up, getting hit only once. (Maybe that was because I had the iPod, set myself to have 33 health instead of the normal 10, and give myself all kinds of virtual guns - machine guns and sniper rifles among them.) It was really fun for me. I doubt it was fun for dad, though. The next time we played, Brandon beat me up. In fact, I beat him up twice and then  he beat me up, having had 40 health total (he restarted three times since I shot him to death three times). I only had 10 health, and he managed to whittle it down so slowly that it took four lives to kill me. That was not  fun for me. I was fighting an impossible battle against someone with infinite health while I only had 10. In conclusion, Lazer Ta

Green Sheet

Today I got a green sheet, which is something you get if you have under 8 runs or you have only three runs in either aspect. I had two late assignments. The first late assignment was my math. I forgot to do the assignment. I did it in school, but that was after everybody else turned it in. I finished it pretty fast, faster than it took Anagha to do a third of the assignment, anyways (she didn't do #2.) The second late assignment was a TFK worksheet. I labeled each book title with a number and then I substituted the numbers for the titles when I answered the questions. That way, I didn't have to write them all out. It was late because I was taking the easy way out. Also, my handwriting was pretty bad on my assignments. I didn't lose a run for it, but Ms. Chen has told me quite a few times that there are problems with my handwriting. So today I rewrote my green sheet with better handwriting. In conclusion, I think not writing ten more seconds of words and doing a few minu

Art Class

Today my mom taught art class. It was on clay modeling. First, we used a type of clay that was brown and needed baking. At first, I made a turnip on a podium. It was smiling and had hair. It also was very lumpy. Then I made a grid. I dotted it one way and then the other. In the end, I made a "pouch". I flipped it over and it became a sun cresting a hill. After that, we used a type of modeling clay to make cars. I made mine so fast that it wasn't of very good quality. The wheels were thin and the car's frame was delicate. When I tried balancing the car on my finger, it started slowly bending down on each side. Eventually, it became a "humpback car". Even though my models were a bit flimsy and I had trouble coming up with ideas sometimes, I still had a lot of fun!

An Unfortuate Situation

Today was an unfortunate day with quite a lot of misunderstandings. First, I went quietly into my mom’s room, and I told Brandon to be quiet too. Then I went downstairs to get my backpack, and by that time, mom had been woken up by the alarm, so I thought it would be okay to go into her room. I wanted to play with mom so I tumbled with her on the bed. Then she tossed my ball down the stairs. I got off the bed, but it took me some time, and Brandon had already gotten the ball. I got downstairs just in time to see him laughing and running around the corner. I thought he had the ball, so I took the other path and met him right at the intersection between the alternate dining room and the place where I play piano. He stopped. I asked him where he hid the ball. He simply mocked me, all the while loudly chomping on his snack. I asked him nicely again, and I got the same reply. I wasn’t very happy. I grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him against the wall. I asked again, and he did

Skiing

Today I went skiing at Steven's Pass. The weather was really slushy. The morning was okay, even though it was a slight blizzard. We made quite a few runs, even though the snow was very soft and slowed us down a lot. The jumps were boring, because it was impossible to fly with all the powder weighing you down. It was still fun to go off on side paths and crash through the snow, though. The afternoon was really annoying. The snow got all slushy and it was hard for me to ski. My skis kept sticking to the ground, and that way I went slower and slower. I was also soaked to the skin because the blizzard turned into a slushie blizzard. In conclusion, skiing today was not that fun.

Brandon's Birthday

It was Brandon's birthday three days ago, but we celebrated it on Sunday, two days before his birthday. For his party, we invited a bunch of his friends to our house. At first, they played on the iPad. It was very boring for me (because I was stuck in my room for 6 hours doing my book report while they were playing and they turned their sound up to full in front of my door). I was trying to write a book report, but they were outside playing Clash of Clans and some weird battle game that seemed kind of bloody. After that, I got to join in on the fun. We went outside to hit a pinata. It took 3 rounds to smack it open. Then we went on a treasure hunt. There were clues everywhere, and at the end we found rocks. Dad broke all the geodes open, and we found crystals inside. I think they might be fakes, though - tiny bits of crystal stuck in a loosely glued together rock. In conclusion, Brandon's birthday party was both boring and interesting.

POWER *zap* outage

Today there was a power outage in school. It was freaky. When we got into the classroom, there was only one light on - the emergency light. We had to unpack in complete darkness! Then I listened while Ms. Chen told us our instructions. We could barely see! Music was a complete disaster. Above my head was a generator for the emergency lights, and it kept whirring. I had a hard time hearing. Then we sang and 'danced' in the dark. We bumped into each a lot, I'll leave it at that. In conclusion, the power outage was very inconveniencing.

My Eyesight

Today I had an eye exam at the Eye and Contact Lens Center. I found that my vision was around -3, which I take to be bad... very bad. The exam was very interesting. First, I had to look through these big things that looked like giant overlapping metal donuts. The equipment had rotatable, changeable, multi-layered lenses on the front, which could be placed over the left and right stationary lenses on the equipment. Then I put on some soft contact lenses, and the doctor inspected how my eyes looked with them. After everything seemed okay, the doctor talked with dad and then called Brandon for his check. I feel sad that my eyes have deteriorated so much, and I regret letting them deteriorate now. Glasses and contact lenses - either way it is very annoying. Without them, I have to squint and everything gets blurry around 20 feet. In conclusion, even though the exam was interesting, I regret that I ever let my vision fall to -3.

Soccer

At recess, we play soccer on the sand field. Soccer is an energetic game. You have to dribble the ball past other players, being sure not to be tripped or have the ball stolen. You also have to pass if you are in a tight spot. You need to think fast and act quick, or the ball will be stolen. Soccer is also an exciting game. On defense, you will be very excited when your teammates are about to score. If you are about to score, you feel even more jubilation. A victory is very rewarding to behold, especially when others think you aren't that good at soccer.  Why do we play soccer? Because it is exciting and energetic.
