One of the biggest successes in the 2015 video game industry
One of the most successful video games in the industry this year was Rocket League.
It is a game about driving cars like players in a soccer game. There are different cars, and the balls move when somebody hits them with a car. There are also powerups, like any other game, that make you go faster, make you hit the ball farther, etc. When somebody shoots the ball into a goal, the ball blows up and the person scores a point.
The creators of the game, Psyonix Inc., originally worked with other companies in a contract form. Then, they came out with a game, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, which, as you can tell from the name, wasn't a huge success. After a few more years and some funding this time, they created a game called Rocket League, which has the same idea, except in a different form, playing soccer instead of battling. The secret to their success, however is publicity. They gave the game out for free to some major streamers, and also gave it out for free to suscribers to the Playstation Plus program.
I think this game sounds pretty interesting and I might want to try it out sometime!
