Prompt Four Posts Ago From The Other Perspective

Students' Rights
Students should get to do what they want
They should be able to focus on sports if they want to
Can't force to get good grades
If force, might quit
Don't want to spend so much time study
But has to or can't do sports
Doesn't like school and quits
Conclude
Many high school students like sports very much, spending more time on sports than their studies. So if there was a rule requiring students to get a certain grade point average to play sports, they would be unhappy. They would feel that their rights were violated, and might quit.
First of all, the students would feel that their basic rights were being disrespected. They all have a right to do whatever they want, and if they don't get to do what they want, their rights are being disrespected. This rule would prevent them from doing sports before their studies, and so they would feel like their rights were being ignored. They would think that they should be able to focus on sports if they want to. And so you can't force the students to put their study before sports, and get good grades.
Also, if you force them to get good grades, they might quit. They don't want to spend so much time studying when they can be playing sports. But they can't do sports. They have to make their academic grades better first. Therefore, they might not like the school, and quit. The students might find other schools that don't have rules regarding putting study before sports, and go there. The school would lose large sources of money, along with students.
Students might feel that their rights are being trashed, resulting in negative feelings, or even quit the school. In conclusion, there shouldn't be a rule requiring students to maintain a certain grade point level in order to play on competitive sports teams.
