Vacation

June 28
Today I took a road trip to Oregon. We went with Noah's family.
For lunch, we went to a great place called Highway 101 Burgers. It was a great place. They had natural beef and it was very soft. They also had diced onions and some of their special sauce, which was great for French fries and burgers.
For dinner, we went to a place called Chen's Family Dishes. There, I got a pork fried rice/sweet-and-sour pork dish. It was on the children's menu, but there was so much food I couldn't eat it all. It was tasty though.
In conclusion, I had two great meals during a long day of driving!
Also, we saw a lot of great sights. One was the 500-year-old Sitka spruce.

Another was the beach - Devil's Churn.

June 29

Today the highlight was dune buggy driving.
At the start I was a bit scared, but as I got more used to it, I had a lot of fun. At the start, I drove really slowly. I couldn't go up a lot of hills. I also got stuck a lot.
Eventually, I started to drive a lot faster. I pushed the engine to the max and climbed a lot of hills. I had a lot of fun, but I still got stuck some and there were some hills I couldn't get up. I went faster and faster.
I had a lot of fun, but the only problem was that it was very bumpy!
Today we also went to the West Coast Game Park Walk-thru safari. I saw a lot of animals. My least favorite animal was the bighorn ram. It kept ramming me until I dropped my feeding food and they just ate all of it. It was ridiculous. I had a lot of fun petting the little animals, especially the nursery animals.

June 30

Today we went to the Wayside Beach and the Trees of Mystery.
Wayside Beach was fun because we got to explore on a big rock. I climbed all the way to the top. It was actually very easy because there were natural footholds and handholds. Then there was a dusty slope that I climbed, and I got to the top of the island.I also explored the caves in the rock and the variety of marine life there, including sea anemone and starfish. The sea anemone actually shrunk in when you touched them!
I also went to the Trees of Mystery. This is where you took a cable car ride through a forest. I have to say the ride was kind of boring. The trail was cool, though, we a lot of cool stories and trees. Very soon after we went to the Tour-thru-tree, also known as Chandelier Tree. It was cool-we drove right under it! They also have a bathroom in an 8' log. 😝 😝 😝 😝

In conclusion, I had a good time today!

July 1

Today in the morning we were leaving our hotel.
At the start, Mom told me to take out two small pieces of luggage. I did that, and Mom took out a big piece of luggage. Then Mom told me to take out another small piece of luggage. I went into the room, and I kind of forgot what it was that Mom told me to do. I thought I heard her say something about luggage, so I looked for luggage, but I didn't see any luggage. So I was about to go out and ask when I saw Brandon coming in. I thought that I could just tell him to go out and ask Mom what she told me to do. Brandon came back and told me it was luggage, so I read a book while he packed up his luggage. I got carried away, though, so I read for a bit too long and Mom started knocking on the window. I hurriedly took the baggage out, and Mom told me that I had pretty much locked her out in the cold for a long time, and that she hadn't even had breakfast.
Sorry Mom!

July 2

Today I went to the Golden Gate Park. My favorite part was the playground. They had a big stone slide which you slid down on cardboard pieces. Then you landed in the sand at the bottom. I also enjoyed the climbing net. You climbed up to the top of a pyramid-shaped structure that got harder as it went up. I touched the very top!
We also went to the Twin Peaks. Up there, it was very foggy and you could see a lot of the city. To get up there, it was a long and winding drive up the mountain. I thought the view was great, though, if only a bit cold. San Francisco looked so small!
In conclusion, I had a lot of fun and saw a great view today!

July 3,4

Today morning we went to the Capitol Senate. This was in Sacramento, California. The building looked a lot like the one in Washington, D.C., but it had a gray dome instead of a white one. The inside staircases were made out of real carved and polished redwood, and the lamps on the tops of the staircases were intricately made and shaped. The two houses were also really cool. The rooms were big and intricate. The mottos were printed in gold leaf and there were big pictures of important people on the wall above the motto. There were also antique desks which people still used. There were three buttons on each desk in the green room (I forgot which one that was). Green to vote yes, red to vote no, and yellow to call for a page to distribute pamphlets or brochures. Plus, there was air conditioning and it felt great in there. 😝
Also, in the afternoon, we went to Lassen Volcanic National Park. We played in the lakes a lot. I enjoyed building a bridge with rocks the best. We made a small tide pool/bridge where you could walk around in circles. Then we went to a different lake and I made a small bridge with logs.
Yesterday we also went to many places - Stanford, Silicon Valley, and      R|Evolution.
At Stanford, we went to the art museum and the tower. The campus was actually the largest in the world, at 8100 acres. I took a bunch of pictures. Then we went to the art museum, with its cool modern and 19th century art.
In Silicon Valley, we visited the Apple and Google headquarters. At the Google Headquarters, we saw a lot of cool stuff. But then a security guard told us to get out because we weren't supposed to be there. Then we just took a few photos in front of the Android statues. At 1 Infinite Loop, Apple Headquarters, the only part open to the public was the gift shop, where we saw all kinds of Apple merchandise, products, and accessories.
The coolest product I saw there was probably the iPhone 5S. It was very thin and felt comfortable to hold. Also, the Touch ID and other things were very quick to set up. You just placed your thumb on the Home button a few times. It was also a lot faster than the other devices. It held more apps, they loaded faster, and the iPhone 5S was a lot slimmer, complete with Siri. I liked the black color, as it blended together very well.
R|Evolution was really cool. It started with old technology such as Babbage's analytical and difference engines. We also saw the evolution of technology from vacuum chambers to hard disks and floppy disks and USBs.
In conclusion, I saw a LOT of stuff in the last two days.💀

July 5

Yesterday I saw fireworks for July 4th. One of the coolest parts was where they filled the sky with gold stars and made sizzles fly around. The sizzles were these rockets with trails of golden sparks that sizzled and flew around in circles. They kept shooting up more fireworks to make the sky almost completely gold. Another cool part was the falling 'stars' part. There were multicolored lights streaming down everywhere. The lights were green and red and it looked great. At the end they popped and sizzled and it looked like a waterfall. In conclusion, the fireworks yesterday were really cool.

July 6

Yesterday we went to Crater Lake Park in Oregon.
First, we stopped in Klamath to have a picnic. There, we also fed the ducks. I saw three eggs, but I don't know which bird or even which species of bird they belonged to.There were also some people there who gave us bread to feed the ducks.
At Crater Lake, we saw snow! The temperature was around 70 Fahrenheit, but there were still big patches of snow lying around. We had fun making snowballs and cooling ourselves down with the snow (dropping it into our clothes).
Then for dinner, we went to 5 Fusion & Sushi Bar. They made really good sushi! My favorite was definitely the Dragon Roll. It had a lot of spicy tuna in it and was topped off with some salmon and other things. I loved the spicy tuna!
In conclusion, I had a good time yesterday!
