Prompt: "Laughter is the Best Medicine."

I think laughter is or is not the best medicine based on the situation. Laughter can help with depression or emotional problems, but laughter doesn't help with sickness.
First of all, laughter helps with depression. It cheers people up, while medicine doesn't help that much, not only being ineffective, but also having nasty side effects. For example, in the book Mockingbird, there is a girl who suffers from depression. Her brother recently died, and she found no way to get over it - until she discovered laughter. It helped to alleviate her pain, where all the medicines she tried had failed.
On the other hand, medicine helps more with sickness. Laughter can't prevent sickness or fight it. But medicine actually fights the germs by creating antibodies, while laughter doesn't. Once, I had a fever and so I had to take medicine. My family tried making me laugh, but it was useless. This proves that the medicine was actually better here.
In conclusion, I disagree with the statement "laughter is the best medicine", but I do agree that laughter could be the best medicine, depending on the situation.
